’18-’19 – OLD TOWN GIRLS

Inspired by Frank Miller’s famous comic Sin City we wanted to work with the Old Town Girls. These girls are prostitutes who have their own part of town. Which is the old part of town. The girls have a deal with the city that the make their own laws and the police stays out so the girls can keep the pimps and the drugs out by using their own ways of keeping order.

You can see this as a ultimate form of feminism. the girls own their own territory, they have made their own rules and make a profession that is looked down upon respectable.

The girls are known for using their sexuality to get respect and seduce man to get what they want.

This freedom reflects into the collection by the level of sexuality, mixture of textures and the cut of the garments by using seductive body part to be shown.

By using only black, white and a few hints of red reflects the style the comic books were designed. Black and white with a few accent colors.

The garments glorify the woman by the use of rich fabrics like silks, chiffons and wools. The use of hard fabrics like leathers and latex gives each look its own edge.
